Thomas Hodgson Liddell  1860 - 1925.

Born in Edinburgh, T.Hodgson Liddell traveled extensively in the British Isles, but it is for his tour in China, in the first decade of the twentieth century, that he is best known.

This tour resulted in the publication, in 1909, of his book, "China, its Marvels and Mystery",  which contained 40 illustrations taken from his paintings.

His Chinese subjects are amongst the most sought after of his work.

He visited Cornwall in 1914 where he was signed into the St.Ives Art Club, although no Cornish images by him have yet been identified.
